Inclement Weather Policy

Cancellations will generally be determined as follows:

1.  If school is canceled or delayed in Westboro due to poor driving conditions:

All Programs, including group exercise/water fitness with a starting time prior to 10:30 am will generally NOT RUN.  All private lessons and training sessions will be canceled at the discretion of the instructor.  Instructors will contact participants directly for private clinics, lessons or training.  Programs may run despite an early dismissal.  Please contact the club or check the web site in the event of an early dismissal in Westboro, to see if we are modifying class schedules.  If school in Westboro is canceled due to a weather event from the previous day (i.e., a large snowstorm the prior day results in sidewalk/parking lot clearing problems for the district), we may not cancel morning programs.  Please check with the Club on our website. No-Shows will be charged if the Club does not cancel programs.

2.  During inclement weather regardless of school cancellation status (or on days where there is not school anyway):

All Club programs may be canceled at the discretion of management.  Please call the Club or check our website during inclement weather for updates.  If management decides to cancel programs, members will not be charged for missed court time or missed lessons.  If programs are running, our normal "no-show" policy is in effect.

The Club looks at a number of factors in determining program cancellation or Club Closure outside of the School Policy above.  If there is a travel ban or declared State of Emergency, generally the Club will close.  Other times the decision is more difficult.  Some people are very comfortable driving in New England weather, and some are not.  If we feel driving is hazardous and more people than not would fail to come to the Club for a lesson, we will cancel.  Please use your own judgment when coming to Club programs during inclement weather.

3.  Makeups

We will do our best to provide makeups for programs that are canceled by the club as a result of our inclement weather policy. Some programs (such as Swim Teams and Junior Tennis Intensive Programs) will not have makeups.  Makeups will be scheduled generally at the end of a session or during a school vacation week.  No refunds are given if you fail to attend a makeup.  Only classes canceled by the Club will potentially have makeups.

4.  Parking Lots

During storms, we will be treating parking lots on an ongoing basis.  Caution should be used and if a lot appears unplowed or untreated, please proceed to a cleared lot.  If snow removal is occurring in a lot, please proceed to an additional lot.  Oftentimes during a large snow storm, we will close the fitness parking lot or portions of parking lots.  Please proceed to the main lot in this case which will be plowed and treated as much as possible. As always, during snow storms it is impossible to have all areas completely treated as snow is coming down, use caution when walking in parking lots and walkways, and if a surface appears untreated, avoid it.
